Mockingbird, Authors thoughts 101
In the Book "Mockingbird" the main Character, Caitlin has Asperger syndrome. Kathryn's daughter also was diagnosed with the same disorder. Which gave Kathryn an idea to write about how this disorder can play a role. Asperger syndrome is an autistic disorder characterized awkwardness in social interactions. Having this disorder is hard when facing something as tragic as death in your family. You know that talking to someone or getting your feelings out at this time would be the best medicine, but with this disorder it makes it even harder. Having the sadness of a loss in the book was for Kathryn to get her point across that even though we suffer from losses we can still gain something. "It mat not be the same, but it can still be good". But someone thats not great with people like Caitlin can pave the way for great healing
